THE OLD RAILWAY
Il Treno dei Sogni Bed & Relais is located where once there was the ancient railway gatekeeper's lodge of Conselve and the restoration project has preserved its historical soul. The outward appearanceis like that of the past as is the subdivision of the inner spaces. The exclusive residence is furnished with handmade furniture and complements, some original and restored, others reused with a different function. The design of the rooms recalls the essential elements of the railway track: the earth of the base, the gravel of the surface, the steel of the rails and the wood of the sleepers. These elements have inspired the name, the colours and the materials of each room.
THE STORY
1886 - 2020
The building dates back to 1886 when it was built to be the twenty-first stop of the Padova - Bagnoli di Sopra tramway, a link that greatly contributed to the economic development of the suburbs of Padua. Electrified in 1928 with an unusual single-phase voltage power supply system, the line was discontinued in 1954 with the advent of private motorisation. Over time, the station became a private civil dwelling until 2019 when the ambitious restoration project transformed it into today's special accommodation facility.
Happiness is like a train not following a schedule: one of this kind only passes every now and then. You cannot predict its arrival, nor know when it will leave. Your job is to go to the station.

Inside and outside, in the common areas and in the rooms, the furniture of Il Treno dei Sogni is designed to let you taste the essence of the past. The craftsmanship of the restoration, the art of recovery, the harmonious juxtaposition of elements from different places and eras create a vintage-flavoured mix, at times retro and at times a little industrial, which permeates the entire structure and becomes the bearer of a piece of history.
